Head of In Vivo Pharmacology and Hematology Biology
Principal Scientist to Director (based on experience)
We are seeking an accomplished and creative scientist to lead our In Vivo Pharmacology function. The ideal candidate has an exceptional technical and scientific background in bone marrow biology and hematology, and extensive hands-on experience with animal models of human hematological diseases. The successful candidate will play a key role, delivering high impact, in vivo data that shapes our Discovery Portfolio, prioritizes therapeutic candidates and supports our clinical programs.

Key responsibilities
Build and lead high-performing internal and external teams responsible for developing and implementing in vivo models of human hematological diseases that:
enables a deep understanding of the pharmacodynamic properties of our novel molecules.
allows confident selection of clinical candidates.
supports our clinical programs by defining optimal dose and dose regimen.
shapes our future Discovery portfolio.
Contribute to driving our scientific strategy, and shaping our Discovery Portfolio, by leveraging deep knowledge of bone marrow biology and hematology to identify novel approaches to address unmet need in priority hematological diseases.
Drive cross functional collaboration to ensure seamless study execution and data delivery across the R&D pipeline.
Establish and manage external CRO partnerships, innovation hubs and internal teams to enable biomarker identification, selection and assay development.
Contribute to regulatory filings, data interpretation, and scientific publications to support program goals.
Mentor and develop junior scientists to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Hands-on contribution and participation at the lab bench is a requirement of this role (approximately 50% of time initially, reducing gradually as Team grows and matures).
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Pharmacology or a related field or M.S. with extensive relevant experience gained in biopharmaceutical industry. Essential to this role:
Expert technical and scientific background in bone marrow biology and hematology which has been applied to the identification of novel druggable targets or new therapeutic molecules.
Extensive hands-on expertise with the development and implementation of animal models of human hematological disease, with known genetic cause.
Proven track record of strong scientific and people leadership and project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional and collaborative projects.
Experience contributing to regulatory filings and managing GLP/cGMP-compliant workflows is highly desirable.
Skills
Proven expertise with in vivo experimental study design and implementation of research strategies that drive deep mechanistic understanding of hematological disease and how they can be corrected.
Deep technical and hands-on expertise with core techniques including flow cytometry, PCR, ELISA, in vivo cell and tissue isolation, culture and transplantation.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
